Nandaprayag is a town and a nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Nandaprayag is one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River and lies at the confluence of the Alaknanda River and Nandakini River. Nandaprayag was once the capital of the Yadu kingdom.

The town sits at an elevation of 1,358 meters (4,455 feet). The official languages are Hindi and Sanskrit, while Garhwali is the mother tongue of most locals. Nandprayag has a rich cultural heritage and is surrounded by natural beauty, including emerald lakes, glaciers, and foaming rivers. It’s a gateway for trekkers to the Himalayan mountain ranges and serves as a point of transit for pilgrims traveling to Badrinath

Karnaprayag

The city of Karnaprayag is one of the sacred Panch Prayags that's situated on the confluence of Alaknanda and Pindar River. It is 20Km from Nandprayag.

Gopinath

The Gopinath temple in Gopeshwar is said to have been commissioned by king Saggar between the 9th centuries. The Gopinath Temple is the home of Rudranath, one amongst the Panch Kedar temples. It is located 18km from Nandprayag.

Uma Devi Temple

This holy site is dedicated to Goddess Parvati. The self-manifested idol of the Goddess was consecrated ages ago and now being worshipped as one of the Shaktipeethas. Of high importance, this temple is visited by lakhs and lakhs of pilgrims each year.

Chandika Devi

Popular as Raj Rajeshwari Chandika Mata Mandir, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Located in the petit village of Simili in Karnaprayag.

Adi Badri

A bunch of sixteen temples belonging to the Gupta period; Adi Badri forms a part of the famous Panch Badri Temple. Among them, one of the temples is dedicated to Lord Vishnu which is enshrined with three feet high idol of him made with black stone. This temple residing around 20 km away from Karnaprayag.
