The nearest railway station to Gokarna is Gokarna road, at a distance of 10 km from the main Gokarna city. However, being a small station it is not connected with the major cities. Another station, Ankola, railway station at a distance of 20 km from Gokarna, is considered as the nearest well-connected railway station to Gokarna. You can also reach Gokarna from other railway stations like Kumta, Karwar and Madgaon.

The Rishikesh Temple, Gokarna is a 4th-century CE Hindu temple which is built in the classical Dravidian architectural style.The temple faces the Gokarna beach on the Arabian Sea. The temple deifies the Pranalinga ("the reality of God which can be captured by the mind") also called Atmalinga or Shiva Linga. The temple is one of the seven sacred Muktikshetras or Muktistala ("places of salvation") in Karnataka.
Located close to Rishikesha Temple, Gokarna beach is most popular with pilgrims coming to visit the temples.
Famous for being naturally shaped like the auspicious symbol Om, Om beach attracts tourists round the year. It is 1km from City.
The Paradise beach is accessible only by boat or after some trekking. No water sports are available here but swimming in the calm waters can be fun. It is 4km from City.
This is one of the most famous tourist spot, located around 20-minutes (walking distance) away from Gokarna. Here travelers will get a number of simple huts and beach-side eating places where one can enjoy lots of things. A kilometers-long pure white sandy beach surrounded by palm trees is the major attraction of this beach that attracts large number of travelers.
